Obsolescence Policy |
|
|
Concurrent Technologies Plc and Concurrent Technologies Inc
are hereinafter, on this page, known as Concurrent
Technologies. |
|
|
Our
general policy is not to discontinue products. However, in today's
rapidly changing world, components can become obsolete for many reasons
or a product can become commercially unviable. Concurrent Technologies
has devised four different ways of protecting our customers from these
types of problems: |
|
|
|
First Way |
|
In the
event that Concurrent Technologies has to discontinue a product due to
component obsolescence, we will make our best endeavours to source an alternative component and provide you
a product with the same functionality without changing the
product design. |
|
|
|
Second Way |
|
If no
alternative component is available and therefore the First
Way cannot be reasonably achieved, then Concurrent
Technologies will evaluate the possibility of modifying
product designs to provide similar, and perhaps the same,
functionality as the board that has the component
obsolescence problem. This modified design may require
different software drivers, but Concurrent Technologies will
make its best endeavors to minimize any changes. |
|
|
|
Third Way |
|
If a
customer does not want Concurrent Technologies to make any
product design changes then we may be prepared to buy enough
stock of the "soon to be" obsolete component(s) so as to
meet a customer's requirements. The customer will have to
pay for the "obsolete" stock that Concurrent Technologies
has acquired for their requirements. |
|
|
|
Fourth Way |
|
If
neither the First Way, Second Way or Third Way are of any
use to the customer then Concurrent Technologies will make
its best endeavors to provide a six (6) months' notice
period for
hardware product discontinuance and may for an additional
six (6) months period after the discontinuance date, provide
and ship product(s) on a build-to-order basis for a minimum
twenty-five (25) quantity order to be delivered within the
said six (6) month period. Extended periods, if any, of
build-to-order offers will be solely at Concurrent
Technologies' option. Concurrent Technologies undertakes to
continue to repair any products that are within warranty
(either Standard or Extended) for the period of the
Warranty, or up to 3 years after product discontinuance
depending upon component availability. |
